So I opened a new terminal shell and typed gnuplot to start using it (the airport terminal is immediately set to qt). I could actually imagine the plots and I thought 'great, it functions'. The create check control outputs a great deal of outlines in the layer before screening several gnuplot scripts. With these commands, gnuplot is definitely located in /usr/regional/bin/.

I adopted the installation instructions discovered in INSTALL.gnu file of the tarbaIl: I ran thé configure document and typed make, make check, create install, and make clear. I also installed the Command word Line Tools on my OS Back button 10.7.5 so that I have gcc and create in the /usr/bin folder. I down loaded the source data files for gnuplot 5.0.1 (gnuplot-5.0.1.tar.gz) from the. I have installed X11 and XQuartz 2.7.4 and after that I installed gnuplot, but unfortunately gnuplot couldn't plot. I am trying to plot with gnuplot on my Mac (OS X 10.8.5). So I installed X11 from the Apple install disc, double clicked on gnuplot and lo and behold it launched OK! Next checked TikZ examples needing gnuplot, all fine, then tried the demos for gnuplot these were showing up OK in AquaTerm, this being the default viewer for this install. Make sure your MacPorts environment is completely up-to-date. I didn't have any plot files handy to open, but it launched okay.

GNUPlot seems to work for me on Mac OS X v10.7.3 with an up-to-date MacPorts installation. However, typing set term png I was greeted by unknown or ambiguous terminal type - the terminal that is part of the standard Linux installation is apparantly not present on Mac. I have downloadedb and installed Gnuplot from Sourceforge and was able to run it.
